We hope everyone had a great Halloween and enjoyed all the costumes around. We had a chunky monkey and a grasshopper appear at our house and all went trick-or-treating in the neighborhood.
Before all that we had a pretty full month. The Arizona State Fair was in full swing...and we went to see the sheep, cows, chickens and rabbits...as well as Mike's favorite...the turkeys. Ever since I showed him that when you do a constant whistle at them they get all puffed up and mad...Mike loves bugging them....he,he,he...I know it's not nice but it is kind of fun! Emilie got her face painted at the fair and had a chance to pet a few goats, llamas and sheep in the petting zoo! Danielle was just very happy to be out and about. She is the calmest, happiest baby I've met....it's great!
The week before Halloween was our neighbor's 11th birthday and so they decided to have a costume party and a bounce house and invited Emilie. I found a cheap Minnie-mouse costume for her to wear and she looked great....she liked it so much she tried to wear it to go to school.
The Montessori school Emilie goes to doesn't celebrate halloween...instead they have International day. The kids learn songs in different languages and put on a little show...they also get to wear the clothes of their heritage and the parents all bring food from the child's country of origin for a potluck for the parents and children. It was fantastic. I didn't really have a "Swiss" outfit for Emilie but we tried to make her look like Heidi as much as possible. As for Danielle she dressed up for international day as well: I found an old dress that was mine as a baby and made her the poster child for Switzerland. I have to admit it was a bit odd to think that I fit in that outfit once....time really does fly!
And finally we get to Halloween! The night when all sorts of little feet go up and down the street and all sorts of dentists are happy to know that their practice is safe for another year! ------Speaking of dentists...Emilie got to go to the dentist for the first time right before Halloween...and she was great. I was amazed at how well she did. She lay in the chair with her little mouth open and didn't fuss at all....when she was all done she told me she didn't really like it but when I asked if we could come back again she said yes...I'm asuming she wasn't traumatized!----- But I'm off the subject here....My little grasshopper and my little monkey did wonderful on Halloween. They went trick-or-treating with Devon...the boy down the street and Emilie's best friend. He was a Clone trooper...(whatever that is?! ....I think it's something out of the latest Star-Wars but I could be wrong) ...They had a blast and I was glad to have gotten a few hours off of work to go with them....
And to finish the update I will leave everyone with these two pictures of Danielle and Emilie.....Enjoy!
Que lindas fotos, Ariane!!
